What are they? The Makko-ho are a sequence of 6 breathing exercises which both stimulate and encourage the flow of energy in your body. They can be used alongside Shiatsu sessions, as a tool to help you improve your own well-being. How can it help me? After a long day at work they can help you to wind down and relax, get in touch with how you are feeling and what is going on in your body. They are also great to do as a way of setting yourself up for the day ahead. Practising the Makko-ho sequence of exercises enables you to balance the energy of all 12 meridian flows in your body; thus bringing you to a point of greater balance and centredness in yourself. You can then maintain your own health on a daily basis or rebalance yourself whenever things get to an extreme. How does it work? Each stretch contacts the energy in 2 of your meridian flows. When you spend some time in the position, with appropriate breathing, you can encourage the correct level and flow of the energies. How can I learn them? You can learn the stretches as part of your Shiatsu session, learning one exercise at the end of each of your 6 shiatsu sessions. Alternatively, you can book an individual Makko-ho exercise session and learn all 6 stretches in one go; and then book revision sessions thereafter, as and when you need them. |
